BioInformatics Services is evangelistic about Integrative Biology. Our dream is that information from many laboratories, and from all levels of biological organization (molecular to organismal) can be used to construct large scale testable models of biochemical, cellular and physiological systems. We are convinced that computational biology is essential to progress in integrative biology and we are working toward a future in which the vast storehouse of molecular, cellular, tissue and organ data and theories can be synthesized into a powerful computationally-based understanding of human biology.
Modeling and computational biology are not designed to merely dot i's and cross t's. Our methods have regularly uncovered new and significant biological information that was simply not apparent to expert eyes examining the experimental data. We have seen this paradigm work beautifully at every level of biological organization and we would welcome the opportunity to bring our experience and our computational tools to bear on your biological or clinical research problems.
