Reprint Available on Nonlinear Modeling in Molecular Cell
Biology
You can get a reprint of Dr. Phair's article: Development
of Kinetic Models in the Nonlinear World of Molecular Cell
Biology (Metabolism 46: 1489-1495, 1997) simply by
sending e-mail with your name and mailing address to reprints@bioinformaticsservices.com.
This paper is an expanded version of a talk
given by Dr. Phair at the Symposium on In Vivo Tracer Kinetics
and Modeling, held at the National Institutes of Health,
Bethesda, U.S.A in the spring of 1996 to honor the contributions
made to this field by Dr. Loren A. Zech.
Dr. Phair's reprint:
- describes the role of kinetic modeling in
biomedical research,
- indicates the steps involved in a
practical process for model development and testing,
- delineates a procedure for including
biological control mechanisms in mechanistic rate laws,
and
- provides guidelines for collaboration and
partnering between experimental biologists and
computational biologists.
- is based on 30 years' experience in both
experimental and computational biology.
